Personal Experience

Mrs. Elliott is Special Counsel/Of Counsel to the Law Offices of Joseph W. Creed. She is an accomplished litigator with expertise in the areas of federal civil rights actions and police litigation. She has also successfully handled real estate fraud, contracts litigation, and tort liability claims. Ms. Elliott has practiced in both State and Federal Court. She is licensed to practice in all courts in Washington State and California.


Ms. Elliott’s breadth of experience includes: federal civil rights litigation; municipal liability; business litigation; criminal prosecution; and General Counsel for various municipalities, including: Los Angeles, Pomona, West Covina, Montebello, Bell Gardens, and Baldwin Park. Ms. Elliott began her legal career as a Prosecutor in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. As a Deputy City Attorney she successfully prosecuted cases on behalf of the State of California in Superior Court. Most recently, Ms. Elliott served the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office as a Special Assistant in the Outside Counsel Oversight Division. In this capacity, she evaluated and oversaw standards and ethical compliance of contractors of the City of Los Angeles.


Since 2001, she has been associated with the Law Offices of Alvarez-Glasman & Colvin as both a Senior Associate and now as Special Counsel, where she is a trial attorney specializing in police civil rights defense and use of force litigation. Ms. Elliott has advised municipalities in all areas of civil rights defense and police procedures and tactics and provided general legal counsel and representation to the Mayor and City Council members on all matters of municipal concern and legislative procedure for several municipalities.


Ms. Elliott serves as legal counsel to the Roybal Foundation, and is a member of the State Bar of California, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice (1999-2001), Mexican American Bar Association, and the Latina Lawyers Association.
